[WORKSHOP] SMART SPECIALISATION FOR THE RECOVERY

This event aims to deepen understanding of how Smart Specialisation can be an effective tool to help territories recover from the current pandemic-induced crisis and discover new opportunities for more sustainable and inclusive economies.

To do this, we must first understand what worked and what did not work in the previous programming period 2014-2020, and identify a set of solid recommendations for Smart Specialisation for the next generation.

This workshop provides a unique forum for practitioners, policymakers and researchers to discuss concrete achievements, good practices, and challenges related to the implementation of smart specialisation policy in EU regions, such as:

  • How to ensure coordinated policy initiatives at the international, national, and regional levels to mitigate the economic crisis of COVID-19 and promote a rapid recovery?
  • How can local policies play a role in addressing the severe socio-economic impact of COVID-19?
