On November 13, 2024, cybersecurity experts, researchers and industry leaders from Europe came together in a hybrid format at the International Industry Engagement Workshop on Cybersecurity, organized by MERIT project partners in collaboration with the EIT Deep Tech Talent Initiative, within the Deep Tech Skills Days 2024. This event provided a platform to explore current trends, exchange ideas and showcase innovative solutions that address critical challenges in cyber security.

Romanian innovators in the foreground: trends and practical solutions for global challenges
A central point of the event was represented by the presentation session, during which experts from the two Romanian companies present at the event, Andrei Resmerița (FORT) and Tiberiu Baraboi (Expertware), shared valuable perspectives.
Andrei Resmerița, CRO FORT, explored the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in cyber security operations. His presentation demonstrated how AI can transform threat detection and optimize responses through automation, providing more effective solutions for cyber defense infrastructures.
Tiberiu Baraboi, Co-founder & CEO of Expertware, presented the SIEMBIOT platform, an advanced collaboration solution in cyber security. This facilitates rapid detection, management of alerts, incidents, realistic simulations and effective information dissemination promoting better integration between academia and industry.
Both presentations demonstrated the important role of emerging technologies combined with human expertise in developing a robust and adaptable cybersecurity ecosystem.
