Gabriela Macoveiu is the one who wrote and implemented the Smart Specialization Strategy, through research-innovation for the North-East Region. He managed to determine the collaboration between the research institutions and the private environment, starting from the societal needs, with the support of the authorities. That is, he brought to the same table representatives of the 4 development pillars.
It also brought to the region a source of funding for innovative projects, carried out through strategic partnerships between academia and companies.
