Digital Innovation Zone EDIH is organizing on Friday, 21 November 2025, together with partners from the MERIT & CAMPUS projects – the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași (TUIASI) and the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) – an event that brings together SMEs, universities, experts, students, and public sector representatives for a one-day working session dedicated to cybersecurity.
Participants will explore cybersecurity solutions and engage with leaders and specialists to define applied directions in cybersecurity and digital transformation.

Activity descriptions
1) MERIT – International Industry Engagement Workshop on Cybersecurity
An event focused on concrete applications and industry perspectives, bringing together SMEs, universities, specialists, and students for experience exchange, solutions, and trends. Participants gain access to up-to-date solutions, the chance to talk to leaders and experts, opportunities to contribute to improving MERIT master’s programs, and, upon request, a certificate of attendance. Organizations share challenges and examples, experts bring insights and emerging technologies, and participants observe and build knowledge. The format blends short presentations, interactive discussions, and Q&A for fast knowledge transfer.
2) CAMPUS Working Group – “Digital Campuses for European Resilience”
The CAMPUS working group aims to strengthen digital resilience in the North-East region, leveraging experiences and best practices identified during the visit to Rennes (15–17 September) and drawing inspiration from the European Cyber Campus model. The initiative fosters ongoing connection and collaboration between public administration, academia, and IT&C companies through regular meetings dedicated to cybersecurity, digital skills development, and critical infrastructure. Access is by invitation and dedicated to key actors: authorities, agencies, DIHs, and universities.
3) RO–MD Workshop – Cross-border collaboration with impact
This session brings together the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iași (TUIASI), the Technical University of Moldova (UTM), Digital Innovation Zone EDIH, and cybersecurity experts from Romania’s North-East region to explore resilience partnerships and how academia supports SMEs in strengthening cybersecurity.

Short bio for speakers
Dinu Țurcanu is Deputy Rector for Digitalization and Associate Professor at the Technical University of Moldova. With over 20 years of experience in IT and cybersecurity, he combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership in digital transformation. Holding a Ph.D. in Engineering and multiple certifications from Cisco, Mikrotik, CompTIA, ISC, and HPE, Dr. Țurcanu has authored over 100 publications and patents. His work drives innovation in network security and digital transformation across academia and industry.
