Digital Innovation Zone 4.0 Conference: AI Conversations Take Shape in Iași

The Digital Innovation Zone 4.0 Conference brought together an increasingly mature community around digital transformation. Over 700 physically present participants, dozens of speakers and an extensive and dynamic expo space confirmed the same thing: the regional ecosystem is no longer in its infancy, but is already on the move.
The theme “Artificial Intelligence. Human Perspective” was more than a central concept, it became the red thread of the conference discussions. Beyond trends and promises, the focus was on applicability: how we use AI to meet real needs in business, administration and, implicitly, society.
From initiative to innovation infrastructure
A defining moment of the event was the dialogue between the founders of the Digital Innovation Zone. The discussion provided an honest look at how this ecosystem was built, starting from the clear need to make digitalization more accessible and coherent for organizations.
Digital Innovation Zone is no longer just an initiative, but has become a functional platform where skills are connected with the right resources and opportunities. Our direction is clear: developing a sustainable framework, capable of generating long-term impact, beyond funding cycles.

Between vision and implementation
During the conference, discussions constantly balanced between strategy and concrete examples. Speakers brought to the fore both European perspectives on the evolution of AI, as well as relevant case studies from the private and public sectors.
For SMEs, the themes were as practical as possible: the lack of digital skills, the integration of technologies and access to the right solutions. At the same time, the role that EDIH type ecosystems play in reducing these barriers and accelerating the adoption of technologies became evident.
Digitalization of the administration: from intention to necessity
Another important thread of the conversations was the digital transformation in the public sector. Interoperability, simplification of services and citizen orientation were the recurring themes.
The common message was that technology must remain a means, not an end. Real impact occurs when digital solutions are designed around the end user and implemented through collaboration between institutions and the private sector.
The space where partnerships begin
Beyond the stage, the conference functioned as an active space for connection. The exhibition area and networking sessions facilitated meetings between companies, startups, technology providers and institutions.
Many of the conversations initiated here went beyond the level of exchange of ideas and turned into starting points for future collaborations. This practical dimension is what sets DIZ apart: not just an event, but a context in which things start to happen.

A community beyond borders
This year’s edition also brought together a consistent international component, with participants from several European countries and candidate states. Their presence contributed to the exchange of experience and the opening of new directions of collaboration.
In parallel, interest in the conference also expanded online, where live broadcasts attracted thousands of participants. The Digital Innovation Zone community thus continues to grow both offline and digitally.

More than an event
The feedback from participants confirmed what we aim to do with each edition: to create a relevant, applied and reality-connected space. The quality of the speakers, the topics addressed and the networking opportunities were among the most appreciated elements.
The Digital Innovation Zone 4.0 conference faithfully represented our mission: “Technology in service of people”, technology must work for people. Whether we are talking about companies, institutions or communities, digital transformation only makes sense when it produces real value.
