Kick-off meeting SAge Hub

Between 22–23 October 2025, at the Center for Innovation and Technology Transfer – MAVIS, Iași, the launch event of the SAge Hub program was held, coordinated by Adina Serediuc (Program Lead) and Cristina Baghiu (DIZ Coordinator), together with partners from Greece, Portugal, Finland, Catalonia, and the Canary Islands.

About the program

The SAge-hub program, funded by the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA), I3 Instrument, aims to develop and scale innovative Smart Ageing solutions across Europe (Romania, Greece, Portugal, Canary Islands, Finland, Catalonia), focusing on creating a robust ecosystem that integrates SMEs, public authorities, research institutions, and regional innovation hubs.

Programme objectives
  • Establishment and expansion of Regional Living Labs for Smart Ageing;
  • Developing the capacity of SMEs to participate in interregional value chains;
  • Developing and testing scalable business models and investment channels;
  • Promoting interregional collaboration through the Regional Network of Innovation Ambassadors;
  • Integrating the outermost regions into EU value chains;
  • Ensuring long-term sustainability through policies, talent retention, and scaling mechanisms.

During the meeting, the project objectives, working methodology, and innovative technological solutions were presented that promote the concept of Smart Ageing (active, healthy ageing) through the Digital Living Lab and interregional collaboration.
