Kick-off Meeting – Interreg Europe CAMPUS

Between 15 and 17 September 2025, in Rennes, France, the Kick-off Meeting of the Interreg Europe CAMPUS project took place. The event brought together the 10 partners from 7 European countries, including Bretagne Development Innovation (project leader), Brittany Regional Council, North-East Regional Development Agency (RO), Digital Innovation Zone (RO), Regional Government of Tuscany (IT), Tampere University of Applied Sciences (FI), Central Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency (HU), Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade (RS), City of Rijeka (HR), and Council of Tampere Region (FI)

From Romania, the event was attended by ADR Nord-Est and the Digital Innovation Zone, together with a delegation consisting of representatives from academia and the private sector:

About the Programme

The CAMPUS – Digital Campuses for European Resilience project is funded through Interreg Europe and co-financed by the European Union. Its mission is to help European regions become more digitally resilient by strengthening cybersecurity skills, developing regional digital campuses, and integrating crisis management mechanisms into public policies

Main Objectives
  • To assess the Bretagne Cyber Campus model and adapt it to the partner regions.
  • To conduct a comparative analysis of approaches from different European regions.
  • To support each territory in setting up and launching its own digital campus.
  • To monitor and implement policy changes that enhance digital resilience at the European level.
Event Highlights
Day 1 – 15 September

The official opening took place at the Bretagne Development Innovation headquarters, where partners were welcomed and had the opportunity to introduce themselves. Later, during the steering committee session, general rules of the Interreg programme and communication requirements were discussed. The day ended with an informal dinner, offering a valuable setting for initial interactions between partners and organizations affiliated with the Digital Innovation Zone Hub.

Day 2 – 16 September

The second day began with an ice-breaker activity, followed by the official presentation of the Brittany Campus and partner presentations. The afternoon was dedicated to meetings with key local players in the French cybersecurity ecosystem, including Inria, Cyberschool, IRISA & SequoIA, La French Tech, and Pôle d’Excellence Cyber.. These sessions provided partners with practical insights into how Brittany has built a strong infrastructure for innovation and digital security. The day concluded with a formal dinner alongside local stakeholders

Day 3 – 17 September

The final day was dedicated to the CAMPUS methodology, focusing on territorial analysis and collaborative roadmapping, along with a recap of objectives and the establishment of the project’s next steps. The highlight of the day was the panel discussion with Orange Cyberdefense, where partners debated innovative solutions for strengthening cybersecurity at both regional and European levels. In addition, the Romanian delegation took part in a presentation organized by the Breton cybersecurity stakeholder Sekoya, who introduced the company and highlighted local projects and initiatives relevant to advancing digital resilience.

The CAMPUS Kick-off in Rennes marked the start of a strategic stage for European digital resilience, bringing together partners from 7 countries and providing a valuable platform for exchanging best practices. Romania was represented by ADR Nord-Est and Digital Innovation Zone, along with the delegation from the Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” of Iași, INFOSEC CENTER, OPTI, and EXPERTWARE, who actively contributed to the dialogue with expertise and regional perspectives. The event laid the foundation for a strong European collaboration aimed at developing regional digital campuses capable of addressing current and future cybersecurity challenges.
