Digital Innovation Zone took part in the “Interreg 35 Years – Interreg in Romania” Conference

On 12-13 November 2025, Digital Innovation Zone, represented by our colleague Irina Robuleț – Non-reimbursable Funding Consultant at DIZ, participated in the event marking 35 years of European cooperation through the Interreg programme: “Interreg 35 Years – Interreg in Romania”, held at the Palace of the Parliament in Bucharest.

Over 250 project representatives from Romania, European officials from the Interreg Managing Authority, and high-level national guests gathered to celebrate the partnerships, results, and impact generated by this long-standing initiative in Romania.

Organized by the National Authority for Interreg Programmes in Romania, within the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Administration, the conference provided a dynamic framework for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and the presentation of results achieved by Romanian organizations acting as project leaders or partners. Throughout the two days, participants explored best practices, discussed challenges, and identified new directions for cooperation.

The event’s agenda included thematic panels where experts and project partners analysed the impact of funded actions, highlighted innovative solutions developed within Interreg, and reflected on how these outcomes can be scaled up.

The conference strengthened the Interreg community in Romania, increased the visibility of project achievements, and reaffirmed the importance of European territorial cooperation for the sustainable development of our regions.

CAMPUS and xDIH, two Interreg projects implemented by Digital Innovation Zone

Digital Innovation Zone continues to strengthen the regional innovation ecosystem by implementing two strategic Interreg projects: CAMPUS and xDIH (Cross-Border Digital Innovation Hub), both dedicated to enhancing digital resilience and developing digital skills in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

The CAMPUS project brings digital resilience to the forefront, supporting local and regional authorities in resisting, mitigating, and rapidly recovering from disruptions caused by cyber threats or natural events. The initiative focuses on the effective application of cybersecurity legislation, the protection of critical infrastructures, and the development of digital and cybersecurity skills.

Its primary objective is to help partner regions become safer, better prepared, and more resilient in the face of digital risks.

The xDIH project supports people and institutions in thriving within the digital era by providing modern learning infrastructures, collaborative curricula, and cross-border expertise that directly address the urgent need for digital skills in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.

The project aims to strengthen digital skills and cross-border collaboration through innovative educational frameworks, modernized learning environments, and shared expertise.

Through CAMPUS and xDIH, Digital Innovation Zone reaffirms its commitment to driving regional digital transformation, building communities that are better prepared, more connected, and more competitive in responding to future challenges.
