On November 2, 2024 Digital Innovation Zone hosted a unique event for technology enthusiasts and healthcare professionals: Health Innovation Zone – Demo Day. It brought together the most promising startups and experts, providing an exposure platform for innovative solutions that aim to redefine the future of health through technology.

Demo Day Health Innovation Zone was more than just a presentation of projects, it was a space where ideas came to life and future collaborations took shape. For startups, investors and professionals, the event was a source of inspiration and a reminder of the huge potential of technology in health. With future editions already planned, the Health Innovation Zone promises to remain a benchmark for health innovation in Romania and beyond.
The opening speech, delivered by representatives of HCLTech, the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University from Iasi and the Digital Innovation Zone, marked the official start of the event. It was an introduction to the program’s vision and mission, highlighting the importance of supporting innovative healthcare startups.
One of the most appreciated sessions of the day was the Future of Health Innovations panel: from ideas to global impact, where together with Prof. Dr. Liviu Oprea (College of Doctors Iași), Dr. Cezar Cătălin Caratașu (UMF Iasi, CEMEX), Dr. Ariana Cordoș (Freshblood HealthTech), Dr. Bioeng. Cătălina Luca (UMF Iasi, Imago-Mol Cluster, AlignSpine), Dr. Bioeng. Călin Corciovă (UMF Iași) and Andreea Mariș Porumb (Medicalo Healthcare), current and future trends in healthtech were discussed.
Another essential session was the discussion on Financing in healthtech: from grants to venture capital, attended by Daniela Aldesc (Smart Impact Capital & Vertik Group), Diana Ceresmis (Iceberg Plus), Radu Prisăcaru (Moldova Business Angels). They shared valuable tips on how startups can exploit financial challenges and attract investors.
The highlight of the event was the startup pitch session, where teams presented revolutionary solutions to the jury.

Dr-Online – a solution that offers subscription-based Virtual Medical Offices/Clinics in the form of a personalized portal: https://DrPrenumeNume.dr-online.net or https://ClinicaABC.dr-online.net. Integrations included: medical file, face-to-face consultations, text, video, invoicing, issuance of medical documents, integration of social media accounts, blog, testimonials and SEO optimization.
SoulSteps – an innovative CRM platform for psychotherapists, designed to simplify case management and optimize clinical interventions by combining administrative functionality, clinical assessment, personalized treatment plans and AI-based conceptualization. The platform enables therapists to automate the entire therapeutic process, from notes and administrative tasks to visual case mapping and the creation of structured treatment plans.
Partial Eclipse – develops a completely new technology, applied in a pair of glasses reactive to light stimuli and which cuts the wavelength harmful to the user, leaving the visual field unaffected. This pair of glasses comes with a companion application, with a dual interface for the user and doctor, which stores the parameters to which the user reacts and alerts the emergency services in case of patients with a high risk factor.
U-Care – an advanced monitoring bracelet for the elderly, designed to provide continuous monitoring, automatic detection of falls and cardiovascular risks and immediate alerting. With an extended battery life, comfortable design and AI-based predictive analysis functions, U-Care contributes to the safety of the elderly, providing peace of mind to both users and their families.
Brinos – automatically monitors behavioral changes in children with autism through artificial intelligence, saving time for therapists and parents.
Extended pitches
ESM-CAM Vision – a compact system to detect and classify surgical instruments in real time, with the help of Deep Learning algorithms developed on the Edge Impulse platform. It can be mounted in operating rooms, projecting labeled images onto a screen, contributing to better instrument management and post-operative loss prevention.
Blood AI – fast interpretation of medical analyzes and easy access to specialist consultations – all in one digital platform. With instant information through simple document uploads, we empower users to make informed decisions about their health with ease.
Phix.work – a smart and innovative tool dedicated to psychosocial risk assessment, created to support organisations in creating healthy, safe and efficient work environments. The digital platform offers leaders a practical and effective way to assess aspects such as mental and physical health, management support, workload, working conditions and relationships, professional development, and job satisfaction.
Stemix.tech – a wristband that provides real-time GPS tracking, emergency alerts, health monitoring and seamless connectivity, ensuring user safety and peace of mind. With low power consumption and extended coverage, the device is ideal for both urban and isolated areas.
MedRadar – the only free mobile application that allows patients to easily search for pharmacies near them that stock the drugs they are looking for, ensuring prompt access to treatment. The application shows in real time the stocks of the pharmacies, where the nearest open pharmacy is located, or which are the pharmacies that carry out flu vaccinations or have their own laboratory.

The solutions presented at the pre-selections impressed, and MedRadar and STEMIX.TECH were rewarded with special awards. At the same time, participants from the extended pitches were offered a Gold Ticket for cohort 3 of the Health Innovation Zone program, ensuring participation in the extended program in 2025.
