Bucharest, September 26, 2024 – ANIS, the Employers’ Association of the Software and Services Industry, signed an institutional partnership with the only European digital innovation hub in the North East region – Digital Innovation Zone (DIZ), thus strengthening efforts to stimulate innovation at the level regional.
About the partnership
The objectives of this partnership aim to carry out joint activities and projects for the development of an innovative technological community in the North-East region of Romania, to stimulate and support innovative SMEs in the region, including startups and spin-off companies, but and public institutions with a view to digitization, by offering test-before-invest solutions (technology demonstrations). At the same time, the two entities are committed to organizing training and networking events, providing opportunities to access financing and encouraging the export operations of companies in the region.
Corina Vasile, executive director of ANIS, emphasizes the importance of this partnership: “Romania has been an important player in the IT industry in Central and Eastern Europe for many years. We have managed to build in these years several pillars on which the industry has based its development, starting from the highly qualified human resource, to the quality of the IT services offered and experience developed through the implementation of large projects on numerous international markets. It is time for Romania to migrate more and more towards the development of its own, innovative and scalable products. That’s why, through every initiative with which we can encourage the industry to innovate, we take an extra step in this direction that will ensure Romania’s regional competitiveness in the long term”.
Cristina Baghiu, coordinator of the Digital Innovation Zone hub adds: “The partnership with ANIS is important for achieving the objectives of the only European digital innovation hub in the North East region – Digital Innovation Zone: active support of the digitalization of SMEs and public institutions together with supporting the development of a portfolio of innovative companies in key technological fields. We thus complete our successful actions, namely the definition of a Catalog of technological solutions that can be accessed by organizations that need digitization support or technology impact awareness programs for those who want to support the North-East region to position itself as a region of innovation”.
Through this partnership, ANIS and DIZ aim to stimulate the growth of innovative small and medium enterprises and support the digitization of public institutions, in the next two years, with the possibility of extending this interval.
