This measure aims to support projects that bring together a wide range of partner cities in a town-twinning event around topics in line with the program’s objectives and taking into account political priorities.
By mobilizing citizens at the local and Union levels to debate concrete issues on the European policy agenda, this measure will seek to promote civic participation in Union policy-making and develop opportunities for social involvement and volunteering at the Union level.
Twinning should be understood in a broad sense, referring to municipalities that have signed or are committed to signing twinning agreements, as well as to municipalities that have other forms of partnership that foster their cooperation and cultural links.
